Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Mash
A steakhouse plate at home: T-bone cut into bites and seared hard in butter with crushed garlic, red pepper and a splash of Worcestershire, spooned over silky mashed potatoes whipped with butter, cream and parmesan.

How to Prepare
Season the steak bites generously with salt and black pepper.
Heat a pan very hot, add the butter and sear the steak bites in batches so they brown rather than steam.
Add the crushed garlic and chopped red pepper, and a splash of Worcestershire, and toss for a minute until glossy.
For the mash, mash the boiled potatoes with butter, cooking cream, salt, pepper and parmesan until smooth and silky.
Spread the mash on a plate and pile the garlic-butter steak bites on top with their pan juices.
Serve immediately while hot.
Sear the steak in batches in a screaming-hot pan — crowd it and the bites steam grey instead of building that deep brown crust.
